This striking Orrefors Sweden art glass vase was designed by celebrated Scandinavian designer Erika Lagerbielke and crafted in 1992. Featuring rich amethyst-toned cased glass with beautifully applied orange handles, this piece exemplifies the bold color and sculptural form Orrefors is known for.
The vase is signed and engraved on the base and retains its original Orrefors Sweden foil label, confirming authenticity. The substantial clear glass base is finely polished and fitted with protective pads, giving the piece a luxurious, gallery-quality presence.
Originally created as a custom Orrefors award piece (see inscription in photos from the bottom of the piece), it functions perfectly as a decorative art object today — admired for its color, weight, and modern Scandinavian design rather than its inscription.
