I like to up cycle and combine fabulous vintage finds with new. I took apart a vintage necklace and saved these inexpensive black double-holed beads. I used them as spacers. They are made of an inexpensive lightweight plastic but they looked so good against porcelain turquoise beads that I had in my collection. I often combine lightweight and heavier weight, old and new, inexpensive and higher quality, mixed materials - I go with what moves me and what looks and feels right together.
The turquoise beads are all made of porcelain. They are a good weight.
I also added black glass beads and combined unique metal beads which I interspersed in the necklace.
The finished size is 22 inches all the way around. The front beaded part with the wide spacer beads measures 1 and one-half inches wide.
There is no clasp - this is meant to be long enough to slip over your head so please make sure 22 inches will slip over your head comfortably.
